Atiku Abubakar’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, said the former Vice President’s resignation letter from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not officially released but “leaked” by opponents. Speaking on Arise News, Ibe blamed “rogue elements in the PDP working in cahoots with APC members” for the leak, alleging it aimed to disrupt national mourning following former President Muhammadu Buhari’s burial.
Atiku’s letter, dated July 14, 2025, was sent to his ward chairman in Adamawa State and cited “irreconcilable differences” and disillusionment with the PDP’s direction.
Ibe criticized Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo for commenting on the matter, saying, “It’s unfortunate that the Minister of Aviation… jumped into this fray as though knowing what caused an accident even before the investigation.”
He further stated, “Those who claim to know why he resigned, are they clairvoyants?” and urged the public to focus on Buhari’s passing rather than political speculations.
