Atiku Abubakar says hunger and insecurity are ravaging Nigerians, yet President Tinubu and his cabinet remain unmoved.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has commended Nigerians for their “uncommon patience, endurance, and resilience” despite worsening socio-economic and security conditions under the current administration.

In his Independence Day message, Atiku accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government of abandoning citizens to their fate. He lamented that Nigerians were suffering from “raging insecurity, rising food scarcity, mass unemployment, and a dangerous climate of hopelessness all compounded by the insensitivity of the APC-led administration.”

“It is tragic that in a country blessed with immense human and material resources, millions of our people have been reduced to refugees and beggars in their fatherland,” he said. “Hunger is killing Nigerians, bandits are massacring communities, yet President Bola Tinubu and his cabinet stand by, unmoved and uncaring.”

Atiku urged Nigerians not to lose faith, stressing that the 2027 elections provide an opportunity to “sweep away this inept government” and reclaim hope for a better tomorrow.
