Atiku Abubakar criticized President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Plateau State for a burial ceremony, describing it as a “political funeral” that mocked victims of insecurity across Nigeria.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for attending the burial of Mama Lydia Yilwatda Goshwe, mother of APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, in Plateau State.
In a statement on X, Atiku described Tinubu’s visit as a “political funeral,” accusing the President of “celebrating and making merry with his party elite” while ignoring widespread insecurity.
“With large swathes of the country still under siege from unrelenting insecurity and thousands of innocent lives lost, it is deeply unfortunate that President Bola Tinubu has not, for once, found it worthy to visit any of the affected states,” he said.
Atiku added, “It is a sad reflection of priorities and a glaring mockery of leadership that while families in Plateau continue to bury their loved ones, President Tinubu chose to grace a political funeral rather than stand with the people in their darkest hour.”
