Angela Peters, a 56-year-old grandmother of 12 from Australia, has welcomed twin daughters with her 39-year-old Nigerian husband, Bright, after undergoing IVF treatment abroad.
Peters, who met Bright in 2020 through a dating app, married him in Lagos nine days after their first in-person meeting. Initially told she could not conceive due to perimenopause, Peters explored options in Nigeria after learning Australia’s IVF age limit was 52.
“They said they could arrange an egg donor and create embryos with Bright’s sperm, and I would be able to carry our baby,” she said.
In December 2023, she discovered she was pregnant with twins, fulfilling Bright’s earlier prediction. The couple welcomed their daughters, Khorus and Knowyn, in August 2024.
Peters, who documented her pregnancy on TikTok, said, “To those who dream of motherhood later in life, don’t lose hope.”
Her daughter, Deina, added, “Mum has proved that age isn’t a barrier to following your dreams.”
