Authorities say no foul play is suspected, though loved ones say many questions remain unanswered.

A human leg bone discovered near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home has been identified as 31-year-old Eric Wein, a Massachusetts man reported missing in April, police said.

Wein’s remains were found on May 14 along Highway 1A in the upscale Watch Hill neighborhood, just 0.3 miles from Swift’s residence. The Rhode Island State Medical Examiner confirmed the identity, and South Kingstown Police have closed the case, citing no signs of foul play.

“We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Wein’s family and loved ones,” authorities said in a statement.

Wein’s friend, Nicole Leboeuf, expressed frustration: “There is no closure. We have no idea what happened or where the rest of him is.”

Wein was last seen April 18, when his car was found abandoned. A search of his phone revealed inquiries about children’s funeral urns, raising further questions.

The discovery has unsettled Westerly residents, though police maintain there’s “no known threat to the public” despite multiple recent cases of human remains in the region.
