“Our president has challenged all of us… to generate a $1 trillion economy by 2030.”

The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku-Bagudu, has called for partnerships with German companies to support Nigeria’s drive toward achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

Mr Bagudu made the call in Abuja on Wednesday when he received a delegation from the Giessen-Friedberg Chambers of Commerce of Germany. He said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has set an ambitious target to achieve a $1 trillion economy, with private sector growth at its core.

“Our president has challenged all of us in his team that he wants us to generate a $1 trillion economy by the year 2030. It’s a very big ambition and most of the growth is to come from the private sector,” he said.

He urged German firms to explore opportunities in technology, skills, and innovation to boost trade and investment, while reaffirming government’s commitment to youth empowerment and legal migration pathways.
