Vigilante members mobilised to the area to effect arrest pending the arrival of the Police, while one Mohammed Am’ore, a community member volunteered to assist the vigilante men in the arrest
A tragic incident occurred on Sunday night in Fadikpe, Minna, Niger State, when a bank driver, Mohammed Am’ore, was fatally stabbed while assisting a vigilante group in arresting suspected miscreants. The group had received a report at about 10:45pm of individuals smoking cannabis in the Rafi area. Am’ore, a GTBank employee and community member, volunteered to help apprehend the suspects before police arrival.
According to Police PRO SP Wasiu Abiodun, “Am’ore was stabbed with scissors by one Nura Buhari, who escaped.” He was rushed to General Hospital Minna but died from his injuries. Another suspect, Abdullahi Rabiu, has been arrested and is aiding the investigation. Police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
