Barcelona continued their strong La Liga form with a 3-0 victory over Getafe on Saturday, powered by two first-half goals from Ferran Torres and a Dani Olmo strike set up by Marcus Rashford.
Torres opened the scoring in the 15th minute after latching onto Olmo’s clever backheel, before doubling the lead in the 34th with a low finish from Raphinha’s long pass. He nearly had a hat-trick but struck the crossbar with a volley. Getafe’s frustration boiled over before half-time as coach Jose Bordalas was booked and three players shown yellow cards.
Rashford, who had scored twice against Newcastle in midweek, started on the bench following reports he arrived late to Barcelona’s morning meeting. He replaced Raphinha after the break and made an immediate impact, racing down the right to assist Olmo’s 62nd-minute finish.
The win keeps Barca second in the table, two points behind leaders Real Madrid after five matches.
