Barcelona began their LaLiga title defence with a comfortable 3-0 victory over nine-man Mallorca on Saturday, as Marcus Rashford made his debut for the Spanish champions.
Raphinha opened the scoring with a header after seven minutes before Ferran Torres doubled the lead in the 23rd, putting the visitors firmly in control.
Mallorca’s Manu Morlanes was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card for a foul on Lamine Yamal, while Vedat Muriqi also saw red before halftime, leaving the hosts with nine men.
Rashford, who joined on loan from Manchester United, came on in the 69th minute to become the first Englishman to play a competitive match for Barcelona since Gary Lineker in 1989.
Yamal capped the win in stoppage time with Barcelona’s third goal, sealing a dominant start to the season for Xavi’s side.
