Biden sounded the alarm on Trump-era SSA cuts, warning of damage to vital benefits.

Former President Joe Biden delivered sharp criticism of the Trump administration’s early actions, accusing it of wreaking “damage and destruction” on Social Security. Speaking at the national conference of Advocates, Counselors and Representatives for the Disabled (ACRD) in Chicago, Biden claimed, “They’ve taken a hatchet to the Social Security Administration… 7000 employees — 7000 — out the door in that time.”

The SSA faces a lawsuit over data access by the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk. Biden, receiving the Beacon of Hope Award, warned Republicans aim to “wreck it so they can rob it.”

Biden added, “They’re following that old line from tech startups… ‘Move fast, break things.’ They’re certainly breaking things.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the speech, mocking Biden’s age and stating, “President Trump is absolutely certain about protecting Social Security benefits.”
