Former President Bill Clinton forcefully denied claims that ex-President Joe Biden suffered significant cognitive decline while in office, dismissing allegations in the controversial book Original Sin that a “council of confidants” effectively ran the White House.
The claims originate from the new book “Original Sin,” by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, which alleged Biden’s mental faculties were so diminished that a council of confidants effectively ran the White House.
“I saw President Biden not very long ago, and I thought he was in good shape,” Clinton, 78, stated. “I had never seen him and walked away thinking, he can’t do this anymore,” he added, insisting there was never a moment he doubted Biden’s mental state.
According to Mediaite, Clinton also said he had not read the book. “I didn’t want to because he’s not president anymore, and I think he did a good job,” Clinton explained. He further suggested, “Some people are trying to use this as a way to blame him for the fact that Trump was reelected.”
