Boko Haram militants killed four people and displaced families in a deadly midnight attack on Wagga, Mungono community in Adamawa State.

Boko Haram insurgents launched a midnight attack on Wagga, Mungono community in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State on September 23, 2025, killing four residents and destroying homes, shops, and a church. The raid, which began around 11:30 p.m., forced families to flee, leaving many displaced and dependent on humanitarian aid.

One survivor, Mr. Steven Dauda, recounted: “We were sleeping around 11:30 p.m. when we heard gunshots and bullets flying all over the village… My brother and his son were killed, my sister was killed, and my neighbor too.” He added that his wife and son remain hospitalized.

Residents lamented the absence of immediate security response, as soldiers arrived after the attackers had left. Survivors are receiving treatment at Cottage Hospital, Madagali, while the Red Cross has provided emergency assistance. Victims criticized the lack of government intervention, with many families migrating for safety. The assault underscores worsening insecurity in Adamawa.
