Source close to Dan Bongino says he won’t stay at FBI if Pam Bondi isn’t removed as Attorney General
Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino is threatening to resign if Attorney General Pam Bondi stays in office, according to a source close to him. “It’s either him or Pam Bondi,” the source told The Daily Wire, citing Bongino’s anger over Bondi’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Bongino, who joined the Trump administration in February, was absent from the FBI on Friday after a heated exchange with Bondi. The rift escalated after the DOJ declared there was no evidence Epstein had a client list or had been murdered.
In May, Bongino stated that video evidence confirmed Epstein committed suicide. FBI Director Kash Patel reportedly agrees but is also calling for Bondi’s removal and further document releases.
Bondi, under criticism for walking back claims about an Epstein client list, explained Tuesday: “It’s sitting on my desk to be reviewed, meaning the file.” President Trump defended Bondi, blasting a reporter’s Epstein-related question during a Cabinet meeting.
