Dutch police arrested three more suspects in connection with a violent kidnapping in Breda believed to be part of an underworld drug feud. The total number of suspects now stands at seven.

Dutch police arrested three more men early Tuesday in connection with the violent kidnapping of a 24-year-old man in Breda, bringing the total number of suspects to seven. The case is believed to be part of an escalating conflict in the criminal underworld linked to a drug feud.

A police arrest team detained the suspects—a 21-year-old from Made, a 24-year-old from Roosendaal, and a 20-year-old from Breda—in the early hours of April 29. All three are being held under full restrictions and are expected to appear before an examining magistrate later this week.

The abduction occurred between January 31 and February 1, when the victim was forced into a van by armed, masked men. He reappeared injured the following day.

“This appears to be an escalation within a conflict in the underworld,” police said. They added, “We have done everything possible in recent months to break the spiral of violence.”

Four other suspects were previously arrested in February. Two remain in custody.
