A faulty aircraft door forced British Airways to deny boarding to 58 Abuja–London passengers on Friday, the NCAA confirmed.

A British Airways flight from Abuja to London on Friday offloaded 58 passengers due to a faulty aircraft door. Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s spokesperson, said on X that “they had to deny 58 passengers boarding this morning” for safety reasons.

The NCAA explained that airlines must leave seats vacant when such issues arise. “Hotel accommodation has been provided, and 28 passengers opted to return home, while 30 accepted the offer,” Achimugu added.

He confirmed arrangements to airlift them the next morning and advised affected passengers to seek NCAA Consumer Protection Officers at the terminal to ensure their rights to care are protected.
