Former President Muhammadu Buhari has denied any fallout with President Bola Tinubu, insisting he remains loyal to the APC. “I will never betray the party that gave me two terms in office,” he said.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has denied claims of a rift with his successor, President Bola Tinubu, or discontent with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In an interview on Trust TV’s 30 Minutes, Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, dismissed the speculation as baseless. “I don’t think in a formal and official sense anybody would talk about distrust or mistrust between the Buhari administration and the Tinubu administration,” he said.
Shehu emphasised Buhari’s unwavering loyalty to the APC, recalling how the party gave him the platform to serve two terms as president.
“For Muhammadu Buhari, he is essentially an APC man. He has said it several times, ‘I will never be ungrateful. I will never betray the party that gave me two terms in office,’” Shehu added.
He noted that Buhari’s camp remains “undisturbed” by external commentary. Reflecting on the party’s formation, he said those who understand the sacrifices made to build APC would not seek to destabilise it.
