Buhari’s nephew Mamman Daura is sick and receiving treatment in a London hospital, VP Shettima confirms.
Mamman Daura, nephew to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has been hospitalised in London and is currently recuperating, the Office of the Vice President has confirmed.
Daura, a close ally of the former president, was widely regarded as a key figure in the so-called “Buhari cabal.” His illness was disclosed during Vice President Kashim Shettima’s visit to London, where he is leading a delegation to repatriate Buhari’s body.
“On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, upon arrival in London, met with and condoled with the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in London. The Vice President also visited the late President’s nephew, Malam Mamman Daura, who is recuperating in a London hospital,” the VP’s spokesperson Stanley Nkwocha said.
Shettima is accompanied by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and others. Buhari’s body is expected in Nigeria on Tuesday for burial in Daura, Katsina State.
It remains unclear if Daura is in the same hospital where Buhari died.
