Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has donated more than 1,000 school uniforms to pupils at four schools in Ealing, including Edward Betham and Greenford High, which he attended as a child.
According to The Standard, the England international personally visited each school, surprising students, staff and parents while handing over the uniforms to support families affected by the cost of living crisis. Saka also posed for photos and signed autographs for the delighted children.
The 23-year-old, who was born and raised in Ealing, has long maintained close ties to the area. In 2021, he was awarded the Freedom of the Borough for his performances at Euro 2020, where England finished runners-up.
Sharing pictures from the event on Instagram, Saka wrote: “Special day going back home to launch our school uniform project. Thank you to all the schools, our partners and everybody else who helped us give to the students.”
Arsenal will face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday in their Premier League season opener.
