Eric Trump said Charlie Kirk’s assassination has “awoken a sleeping giant” that will energize conservatives across generations
Eric Trump said the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has awakened a “sleeping giant” across generations, calling it a mistake that will strengthen the conservative movement.
Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and son of President Trump, spoke on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” He compared the national response to the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, quoting, “I think we have just awoken a sleeping giant and filled him with terrible resolve.”
He said Kirk’s death is uniting Americans. “This is a hit on our country, it is a hit on our movement, it is a hit on Christianity, it is a hit on religion, it is a hit on freedom,” he said. “They truly have awoken that sleeping giant.”
Trump added that Kirk’s influence in mobilizing young voters during the 2024 election underscored the tragedy. “This could have been the greatest mistake these people ever made,” he said.
