Veteran entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has responded to the Lagos State government’s decision to rename the Charly Boy Bus Stop in Bariga after rapper Olamide Adedeji, also known as “Baddo.”

In a brief reaction to Daily Post on Saturday, Charly Boy appeared indifferent, stating, “Na dem sabi.”

The renaming is part of a wider initiative by the Lagos government to honour prominent Nigerians in entertainment and sports by renaming roads and landmarks.

Other changes in Bariga include Ilaje Road renamed King Sunny Ade Road, Bariga Road now Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way, and Community Road in Akoka renamed Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Road.

Ajidagan Street is now Olamide Adedeji (Baddo) Street, Ifeanyi Street was changed to Abolore Akande (9ice) Street, Ayodele Street in Ladi-Lak is now Tony Tetuila Street, while Ilojo Crescent in Obanikoro became Bukayo Saka Street, named after the Arsenal and England footballer of Nigerian descent.

The renaming has sparked mixed reactions online, with some questioning the historical accuracy and political motivations behind the move.
