Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has called the UEFA Conference League “the best competition in the world” ahead of their final clash with Real Betis in Wroclaw. Victory would see Chelsea become the first club to win all four major UEFA tournaments.
Chelsea are aiming to end their season with silverware as they face Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final in Wroclaw. A win would make the London club the first to have won all four major UEFA competitions.
Manager Enzo Maresca, in his debut season at Stamford Bridge, emphasized the importance of the competition: “Probably the most complicated thing this season about the Conference League has been to convince the players that for us it was the best competition in the world.”
The Blues have scored a record 38 goals en route to the final, winning 11 of their 12 games.
Reflecting on recent criticism of his young squad, Maresca said: “They are men… we are mature enough, we can compete.”
Chelsea secured a Champions League place last weekend and now aim to cap their season with a European title. “The first target is there… hopefully we can achieve tomorrow the second one,” Maresca added.
