Chris Christie blasted Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as “foolish” during an ABC debate, clashing with Reince Priebus over his role as Trump’s health secretary.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie launched a blistering attack on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a debate on ABC News’ This Week on Sunday, questioning his role as health secretary under President Donald Trump.

Referring to Kennedy’s testimony before a Senate hearing last Thursday, Christie said the proceedings “just confirms what all of us around this table have known for decades: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a foolish man, full of foolish and vapid ideas.”

Kennedy had been grilled for three hours over his removal of CDC leadership and policies restricting COVID vaccine access. Several Democrats have since urged him to resign. Trump, however, defended his appointee, calling Kennedy “a very good person” with a “different take.”

Christie dismissed Trump’s support, suggesting the president is “smart enough to know RFK Jr. doesn’t belong in that job” and would fire him “if it gets much worse.” He described Kennedy as “the greatest vaccine and public health denier of the last 20 years” and a “human middle finger” to critics.

Former Trump chief of staff Reince Priebus disagreed, calling Kennedy “a decent, humble, caring guy” trying to “balance the benefits of the COVID shot.” The exchange devolved into a shouting match between the two Republicans.
