A global technical issue affecting Cloudflare caused major Nigerian and international websites—including X—to experience widespread service disruptions on Tuesday.
Several major Nigerian and international websites were hit by significant downtime on Tuesday after global internet infrastructure provider Cloudflare reported a technical issue that affected multiple services. Cloudflare acknowledged the problem on its status page, noting it was investigating “an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers.”
According to NetBlocks, the disruptions impacted platforms such as X and other online services but were not related to any country-level internet restriction. NetBlocks explained that “a wide range of online services are currently experiencing disruptions due to a technical issue affecting Cloudflare’s global network,” confirming the fault originated from Cloudflare’s systems rather than local interference.
