“About two seconds after I walked outside, I saw these appear in the sky… we saw a number of intercepts take place as well.”
CNN political commentator Scott Jennings is stranded in Israel amid escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
Jennings had traveled to report on the October 7 Hamas attack and ongoing hostage crisis when Iran launched a major missile strike Friday night in retaliation for an earlier Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites. “It’s pretty jarring. I’ve seen two rounds of missiles tonight,” Jennings told CNN’s Jake Tapper.
“About two seconds after I walked outside, I saw these appear in the sky… we saw a number of intercepts take place as well.”
He described being rushed to a hotel bomb shelter as air raid sirens sounded.
Iran fired approximately 200 missiles, with some breaching Israeli and U.S. defenses. At least three people were killed, including a 73-year-old man. Israel has closed its airports, trapping Jennings in the country. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to eliminate Iranian threats as both nations vowed continued strikes.
