Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with Gyokeres on a five-year deal, but are yet to meet Sporting’s €70m plus €10m in add-ons asking price.
Arsenal’s long-running pursuit of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres is heating up—but not without drama. While many Gunners fans are eager to see a proven goal-scorer join the squad, not everyone is convinced the club is fully committed.
Former Watford striker Troy Deeney made waves on talkSPORT, claiming Arsenal’s slow approach suggests uncertainty. “I don’t think they’re sold on Gyokeres. I really don’t,” Deeney said, comparing the situation to Liverpool’s decisive £116.5m signing of Florian Wirtz. “If Arsenal were really keen, they’d just go and get it done.”
Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with Gyokeres on a five-year deal, but are yet to meet Sporting’s €70m plus €10m in add-ons asking price.
Still, not all voices are skeptical. Club legend Martin Keown fully supports the move. “He has pace, power… and that’s just what Arsenal need,” Keown said.
Gyokeres’ impressive 54-goal season has certainly caught attention. But will Arsenal seal the deal—or stall again?
