Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court in Lagos has freed Arigbe Faith Isoken, convicted of methamphetamine possession, on compassionate grounds due to her poor health.

Isoken was arrested by NDLEA officials on May 23, 2025, at Lekki Gardens Phase 2 Junction, Ajah, with 66 grams of methamphetamine.

She pleaded guilty to a one-count charge and was convicted under Section 356(2) of the ACJA, 2015. The court also granted the prosecution’s request to forfeit ₦534,569.16 found in her bank accounts, allegedly proceeds from the crime.

Defence counsel, Mr. C.J. Robert, presented medical reports showing Isoken suffers from abdominal complications and an enlarged heart. He pleaded for leniency.

“This court must balance justice with humanity,” Justice Osiagor said. “The convict has shown remorse and is clearly not in good health. I therefore caution and discharge her on compassionate grounds.” He warned her not to reoffend.
