A magistrate court in Kuje, Abuja, has ordered the remand of Nnamdi Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, over their involvement in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest.

A magistrate court sitting in Kuje, Abuja, has remanded the brother of Nnamdi Kanu, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, in Kuje prison.

Their remand followed their participation in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held on Monday in Abuja.

Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, Kanunta Kanu, disclosed this in a post on X on Tuesday, alleging that, “The magistrate seating in Kuje remanded Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, the lead counsel in Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case and Prince Emmanuel Kanu, his youngest brother. This is a conspiracy from the executive, legislature and judiciary to frustrate Kanu’s trial on Thursday.”

Court documents shared by Prof. Chidi Odinkalu showed that the police charged the suspects with inciting disturbance, breach of public peace, and obstruction of movement.

Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin had earlier confirmed that Ejimakor, Kanu’s brother, and others arrested during the protest would be charged to court after investigation.
