The Lagos State Police Command has commenced full enforcement of tinted glass regulations, with Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh personally leading the crackdown to enhance public safety.
The Lagos State Police Command has commenced strict enforcement of laws regulating the use of tinted glasses on vehicles across the state.
The exercise, which began on October 2, continued on Friday, October 3, with Commissioner of Police (CP) Olohundare Moshood Jimoh personally leading operations.
A statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the enforcement aligns with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and aims to enhance safety and curb criminal activity.
“The exercise is not intended to inconvenience law-abiding citizens, but to enhance public safety, curb criminal activities, and ensure compliance with road safety regulations,” CP Jimoh said.
The Command advised vehicle owners to obtain valid permits at possap.gov.ng or remove tinted glasses. Offenders risk vehicle impoundment and prosecution.
Jimoh directed officers to conduct the exercise “with the highest level of professionalism, free from harassment or extortion,” warning that erring officers and their commanders would face sanctions.
Residents were urged to cooperate with police and report misconduct via official complaint channels on X (@LagosPoliceNG, @CruLagospolice), Facebook, or Instagram.
SP Adebisi reaffirmed the Command’s “unwavering commitment to making the state safer for all.”
