A sniper opened fire on detainees at a Dallas ICE facility Wednesday, killing three before taking his own life.

A sniper attack outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas left at least three detainees dead early Wednesday, authorities confirmed.

The gunman, described as a white male, opened fire from a rooftop as detainees were being escorted into the building just before 7 a.m. local time.

Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin called the assault “monstrous,” adding that “there were three fatalities, potentially detainees,” with others injured, some critically. No ICE agents were killed.

The shooter was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the roof of a nearby immigration attorney’s office as police closed in.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said, “While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop.”

Vice President JD Vance also condemned the attack, urging prayers for the victims.
