Dangote Group has taken custody of Phyna’s late sister Ruth Otabor’s remains after her death from injuries sustained in a company truck accident.

Representatives of the Dangote Group on Sunday collected the remains of Ruth Otabor, younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, who died weeks after being hit by a company truck in Auchi, Edo State.

Ruth, who had undergone a leg amputation following the accident near Auchi Polytechnic, passed away at about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. Her family, through Eko Solicitors & Advocates, announced her death, requesting privacy as they mourn. “The family is presently grieving and will appreciate being given a private moment to mourn the departed,” the statement read.

A family source told PUNCH Metro that Dangote representatives took her body to the mortuary and are expected to cover funeral expenses, having earlier borne medical costs. Relatives described Ruth as “cheerful and affectionate,” recalling her nickname, Bobo.

Dangote Group confirmed the incident, pledging full support, medical coverage, and compensation in line with its welfare policy.
