Aliko Dangote has named the main road leading to his Lagos refinery after President Bola Tinubu, crediting the president for his bold leadership and support of the landmark project.
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has named the main road leading to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos after President Bola Tinubu, praising his leadership and contributions to the project.
Dangote made the announcement Thursday during the commissioning of the Deep Sea Port Access Road in Lagos, which connects the Dangote Fertiliser Plant to Eleko Junction.
> “The Dangote refinery complex is in many ways your brainchild,” he told Tinubu. “Mr President, let me just say one thing — the main road going into our refinery is now going to be called Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road.”
Describing Tinubu as a “courageous” and “ambitious” leader, Dangote said his administration has renewed investor confidence.
Following the announcement, Tinubu stood and shook hands with Dangote as dignitaries applauded.
The renamed road stretches through Epe–Ijebu-Ode and links to the Sagamu–Benin Expressway, forming a major trade route. Dangote noted it is part of a broader 500km infrastructure effort, including two projects connecting Nigeria to Chad and Cameroon.
