Dangote refinery will begin direct petrol supply on September 15 in 11 states at N820 per litre, with free delivery to stations nationwide.

The Dangote refinery on Thursday announced it will begin direct nationwide petrol supply on September 15, starting with 11 states.

In a post on its official X page, the refinery said the initiative will commence in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Abuja, Delta, Rivers, Edo, and Kwara states before expanding nationwide.

The product will sell at an ex-gantry price of N820 per litre. Petrol delivered to retail outlets in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti will cost N841 per litre, while Abuja, Delta, Rivers, Edo, and Kwara residents will pay N851 per litre.

“All petrol station owners nationwide are invited to register for free delivery and other benefits,” the refinery stated.

The company recently acquired 4,000 compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered tankers to boost distribution and estimates the scheme could save Nigerians over N1.7 trillion annually.

Analysts say the plan could ease fuel costs but may disrupt the downstream sector.
