The Dangote Refinery will launch free fuel distribution on Monday across select states, alongside a petrol price slash and a major CNG truck rollout to boost logistics.
The Dangote Refinery will begin its free fuel distribution scheme on Monday, according to a statement from company spokesman Anthony Chiejina.
Chiejina said the programme will initially cover Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States. He added that petrol prices would be reduced to N841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, and N851 per litre in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta.
“We are starting the free fuel distribution scheme on Monday. We will start with Lagos and the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers and Edo States,” the statement read.
The scheme, originally scheduled for August, was delayed due to logistics challenges in China. The refinery has now received over 1,000 trucks for the rollout, with more states expected to benefit as additional trucks arrive.
Dangote also announced a large-scale rollout of 10,000 CNG-powered trucks this year to strengthen logistics despite rising CNG prices.
