The Danko-Wasagu LG Chairman has dismissed a US lawmaker’s claim that the abducted Kebbi schoolgirls were taken from a Christian community, saying all 25 victims whose names were released are Muslims.

The Chairman of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Hussaini Aliyu, has rejected an allegation by United States lawmaker Riley Moore that the recently abducted Maga schoolgirls were taken from a Christian community, describing the claim as false, misleading, and capable of heightening religious tension.
Aliyu said all the girls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, are Muslims and urged the American legislator to avoid “unverifiable statements” that could inflame divisions in Nigeria. He released the full list of the 25 abducted students as follows:
