Chelsea booked a spot in the Club World Cup round of 16 with a 3-0 win over Esperance de Tunis in their final Group D match on Tuesday.

Goals from Tosin Adarabioyo, Liam Delap, and Tyrique George secured the result, despite manager Enzo Maresca resting key players including Cole Palmer and Robert Sánchez.

Delap, a £30 million signing from Ipswich Town, scored his first Chelsea goal in first-half stoppage time, moments after Adarabioyo had opened the scoring with a header. “Delap capitalised on a loose ball inside the box, cutting inside a defender and finishing neatly into the far corner,” ESPN reported.

Tyrique George added a third deep into added time as Chelsea saw out the match comfortably.

Nicolas Jackson remains suspended for Chelsea’s next match following his red card against Flamengo.
