If former president Olusegun Obasanjo had stayed and guided we the younger ones, we wouldn’t have lost the 2015 election.
Former Governor Gabriel Suswam has attributed the political misfortunes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since 2015 to the exit of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo. In an interview on Arise TV, Mr Suswam said, “If former president Olusegun Obasanjo had stayed and guided we the younger ones, we wouldn’t have lost the 2015 election.”
Reacting to recent mass defections in Delta State, Mr Suswam linked the crisis to poor leadership within the PDP, stating, “The defections you see in Delta are bound to happen in other states. It is going to get worse because in any organisation that doesn’t have good leadership, there is no way you can expect better.”
He defended ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s switch to the ruling APC, saying, “I don’t blame Governor Okowa for the decision he took.”
Meanwhile, acting PDP chairman Umar Damagun announced sanctions for party members supporting President Bola Tinubu and directed legal steps to remove Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
