Ghislaine Maxwell may seek a deal with the Trump administration in exchange for cooperation in the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to Alan Dershowitz, Epstein’s former lawyer. “She’s going to make a deal,” Dershowitz told The New York Post, asserting that Maxwell “knows everything – not just about the perpetrators but the victims.”
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche plans to meet Maxwell in prison to assess her potential cooperation. Meanwhile, the House oversight committee has subpoenaed her for an August 11 deposition. Chairman James Comer wrote that her testimony could aid in legislative efforts to combat sex trafficking and reform plea agreement policies.
Maxwell’s options for sentence reduction include a Rule 35 motion or a presidential pardon. Former prosecutor Edward A. McDonald said her credibility is questionable, noting, “Unless she exonerates Trump, she is not going to get any quid for her quo.”
Trump, not implicated in wrongdoing, has faced growing pressure over unreleased Epstein documents, calling the situation a “witch hunt.”
