Diddy received a 50-month prison sentence after a judge cited deterrence and condemned his abusive conduct despite acquittals on more serious charges.

Sean “Diddy” Combs stood motionless in a Manhattan courtroom on Friday as Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to four years and two months in prison for prostitution offenses. The 55-year-old music mogul was also fined $500,000 and will serve an additional five years under supervised release following his incarceration.

Subramanian said a lengthy sentence was necessary for deterrence, adding he was not persuaded that “these crimes won’t happen again” if Combs is released sooner.

Combs was convicted in July on two prostitution-related charges after an eight-week trial but was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering.

During sentencing, the judge condemned Combs for his “savage” abuse of ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, saying he had inflicted “irreparable harm” on his victims.

In a controversial move, Subramanian ruled he would consider evidence from acquitted charges when determining the punishment.
