ADC’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, says the new opposition coalition is doomed, citing legal issues and leadership crisis.
Dumebi Kachikwu, 2023 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has dismissed the recent opposition coalition, warning that it is on a “slippery slope” and “will fail.”
Speaking on The Volume Pod, Kachikwu cited unresolved legal issues and questioned the legitimacy of Ralph Nwosu’s leadership in the ADC.
“They are walking down a very slippery slope that only ends in one place: failure. You cannot build something on nothing,” he said.
He claimed two court rulings confirmed Nwosu’s tenure had expired two years ago, rendering the coalition’s formation invalid.
Kachikwu also accused the coalition leaders of bribing ADC state chairpersons and lamented the lack of a clear governance plan.
“All these men now realise that they made a mistake… they are reaching out to me through several people,” he said.
The coalition includes prominent figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, among others.
Kachikwu insists only the court can resolve the leadership crisis rocking the ADC.
