Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, has warned President Bola Tinubu to release the IPOB leader or risk losing political support from the South-East.
The Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor, has urged President Bola Tinubu to release the detained IPOB leader or forget about winning the votes of South Easterners.
In an interview with Symfoni TV, Ejimakor said: “If he doesn’t free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, he can forget the votes of the South East. Unless there is another plan, they are not going to win South East without freeing him.”
He recalled winning three legal victories in Kanu’s favour but lamented continued disobedience to court orders. Ejimakor also criticised the suppression of peaceful protests, saying, “If you lose the right of peaceful protest, then what is the essence of democracy?”
Ejimakor was recently brutalised and detained by police during a protest for Kanu’s release on October 20. Despite suffering health complications, he vowed to continue his advocacy, joining others like Omoyele Sowore in demanding Kanu’s freedom.
