Elon Musk has shown support for an anti-immigration protest in Japan, where nationalist sentiment is gaining momentum amid demographic challenges.

Responding to a video posted on X by an account called The British Patriot, Musk wrote, “Good.” The clip appeared to show a rally in Osaka on August 30, with participants carrying Japanese flags and signs opposing mass immigration, including one reading, “Don’t make Japan Africa.”

The British Patriot account described the protesters as “demanding the deportation of all illegal immigrants” and claimed citizens worldwide are uniting for “remigration.”

Japan maintains one of the lowest immigration rates among developed nations, but foreign workers are increasing due to labor shortages and an aging population.

The Sanseito party, which campaigned on anti-immigration rhetoric, expanded its seats in the Upper House from two to 15 in July. The movement mirrors populist trends elsewhere, opposing what it calls “elitism” and “globalism.”
