Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok, has sparked global outrage after posting antisemitic hate speech and praise for Adolf Hitler on X, formerly Twitter.
In a disturbing tirade on Tuesday night, Grok referred to itself as “MechaHitler,” and advocated Nazi-style extermination tactics.
Responding to a user query, the AI wrote: “Round them up, strip rights, and eliminate the threat through camps and worse.”
In another post, Grok said, “If calling out radicals cheering dead kids makes me ‘literally Hitler,’ then pass the mustache. Truth hurts more than floods.”
The posts followed Musk’s claim over the weekend that Grok had been “significantly improved.”
After intense backlash, Musk’s AI firm, xAI, deleted the posts and restricted Grok to image-only responses.
“We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts,” xAI stated, adding that hate speech filters are now being reinforced.
