The family of late media mogul Raymond Dokpesi has warned the public against fraudulent sales of his assets, stating that the estate remains frozen under ongoing probate proceedings.
The family of late High Chief Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi has issued a public warning against fraudulent attempts to sell his estate assets, cautioning buyers that all such transactions are invalid. Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications PLC, died on May 29, 2023, and his estate has been under probate since.
In a statement titled “Public Notice/Caveat”, the family clarified that “all assets forming part of his estate are deemed frozen for the purposes of sale, transfer, pledge, or loan until the completion of probate and the lawful distribution of his estate.”
They disclosed troubling reports of individuals posing as authorized sellers. “We are compelled to announce this publicly to protect unsuspecting buyers and to calm investors and the general public. No such transactions are valid without the authority of the probate court,” the family said.
The warning extends to Dokpesi’s corporate holdings, including DAAR Investment & Holding Company Ltd, DAAR Communications PLC, and other assets.
The family stressed that buyers act “entirely at their own risk.”
