Former presidential aide Lauretta Onochie has vowed that President Bola Tinubu  ” won’t return in 2027,”  insisting his exit from power is “non-negotiable.”

According to a report from SAHARA REPORTERS, Onochie who served as aide to late President Muhammadu Buhari and later chaired the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board, made the remarks while addressing supporters at a recent political gathering where she publicly distanced herself from Tinubu’s administration.

In a video cited by SaharaReporters, Onochie told her supporters: “Tinubu has no pathway to return in 2027. We are not saying maybe or maybe not. He’s gone. Tinubu is gone.” She described her decision to support his 2023 presidential bid as “shameful” and“regrettable,” stating, “He was elected by the people including me standing here and shamefully too and regrettably too.”

Onochie further emphasised that her political movement would adopt a restrained approach, saying, “We will work gently. We are not going to be running around or doing whatever they are doing… We will stand our ground respectfully without insulting anyone.” She concluded with a firm prediction: “We will just march on in 2027 and I think 2027 he will be gone. It is non-negotiable. He is gone already.”

The report also recalled recent comments by Ademola Olarewaju, aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who argued that the APC would face defeat in 2027 if former President Goodluck Jonathan enters the race.
