Speaking to Saturday PUNCH, Asefon claimed El-Rufai was housing Isah and circulating him among opposition circles.
Presidential aide and ex-NANS president Sunday Asefon has accused political figures including Nasir El-Rufai, Atiku Abubakar, and Omoyele Sowore of sponsoring Atiku Isah, a factional student leader, to discredit President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking to Saturday PUNCH, Asefon claimed El-Rufai was housing Isah and circulating him among opposition circles. “They have now seen that Seyi is a political asset to his father, so they want to destabilise him,” he said.
Isah previously alleged that he was abducted and tortured after rejecting a N100 million bribe allegedly offered by Seyi Tinubu and Youth Minister Ayodele Olawande—claims Seyi denied, calling them “fabrications.”
El-Rufai, reacting online, questioned the silence of security agencies: “We must ask questions, demand answers and action!!”
Isah, however, denied staying with El-Rufai and dismissed the accusations as politically motivated. “I have not seen El-Rufai in over nine years,” he said.
Asefon insisted the only legitimate NANS leader is Olusola Oladoja.
