“Identifying AI text with confidence is increasingly essential,” says Pangram CEO Max Spero.
Pangram, a startup developing tools to detect AI-generated text, has raised $4 million in seed funding to improve its technology and grow its product lineup. The round was led by ScOp, with backing from Script Capital, Cadenza, Haystack VC, and angel investors.
Founded by former Tesla engineer Bradley Emi and Stanford alum Max Spero, Pangram aims to offer reliable detection as AI-generated content floods classrooms and workplaces. “Identifying AI text with confidence is increasingly essential across education, business, and the media,” said Spero.
Pangram’s system uses a feedback loop that trains on edge cases and confusing samples, improving detection accuracy over time. Emi noted, “What makes great machine learning products in general is great data… that’s where we’ve focused most of our effort.”
Clients like Quora and NewsGuard already use the product. Pangram offers monthly plans starting at $15. With its new funding, the company plans to expand its eight-person team and launch tools for both individuals and enterprises.
