A physical altercation erupted at Niger Delta University when a female student refused to leave an exam hall after being caught cheating and demanded her confiscated phone, resulting in a fight with her lecturer.

Social media is awash with footage showing a lecturer and a female student at Niger Delta University in Bayelsa State physically confronting one another inside an examination hall. The altercation occurred after the lecturer, as yet unidentified, instructed the student to leave the hall upon discovering that she was allegedly engaging in exam malpractice.

The student refused to comply immediately and insisted on retrieving her confiscated mobile phone. According to sources, she went so far as to smash the lecturer’s phone before the situation escalated into a physical exchange of blows.

In one of the videos, another university official can be heard urging the student to leave the hall, but she remained steadfast, demanding her phone in return for her cooperation.

Efforts to obtain comments from the university management were unsuccessful at press time. The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, Musa Mohammed, told DAILY POST, “I will contact the DPO in the area and get back to you.”
