FaceTime users engaging in phone sex will now see an important warning from Apple

Apple is testing a new FaceTime feature in its upcoming iOS 26 update that pauses audio and video if nudity is detected during a call.

A warning message appears, stating, “Audio and video are paused because you may be showing something sensitive. If you feel uncomfortable, you should end the call.”

The change was first reported by tech blogger iDeviceHelp, who wrote on X: “In iOS 26 FaceTime will pause the Video if you’re undressing while on a FaceTime call.”

It remains unclear whether the feature is intended for all users or primarily for child safety accounts. However, the “Sensitive Content Warning” can be toggled on or off in settings and is disabled by default.

Apple clarified that the analysis occurs locally. “Because the photos and videos are analysed on your child’s device, Apple doesn’t receive an indication that nudity was detected,” the company said.

iOS 26 is expected to launch in September as part of Apple’s broader safety initiative.
