PDP chieftain Segun Adewale has labelled critics of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar “gluttons,” accusing them of self-interest over party unity.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Adewale, has described former Governor Ayodele Fayose, Bode George, and other critics of ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as “gluttons.”
“Atiku is one of the politicians that I know that is satisfied with whatever he has. Most other politicians, like his critics, are gluttons,” Mr Adewale said Friday.
He warned against dismissing Mr Abubakar’s presidential ambitions, saying, “Anyone within the PDP saying Atiku should not contest in 2027 is working for the opposition.”
While Mr George had urged Mr Abubakar to quit the PDP over alleged anti-party activities, Mr Fayose vowed to oppose him if he ran in 2027.
Mr Adewale defended Atiku as a “tested and tried” leader who “understands Nigerian politics” and accused dissenters of “working for their stomach, not for Nigeria.”
