FBI opens criminal probes into John Brennan, James Comey – report

Share:

The FBI has initiated criminal investigations into former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey, Fox News Digital reported Tuesday, citing U.S. Justice Department sources.

The probes reportedly focus on alleged misconduct tied to past government investigations of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, in which Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton. The exact scope of the investigations remains unclear.

According to the report, Trump-appointed CIA Director John Ratcliffe referred Brennan—who served under President Barack Obama—for potential prosecution. The FBI, CIA, and Justice Department declined to comment, and Reuters could not independently verify the investigations.

A criminal probe does not guarantee charges will be filed. Brennan did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and Comey could not be reached. Fox News cited multiple Justice Department sources but did not specify how many.
